Ken’s passion for coffee begins with his fascination with the chemistry of coffee and the flavors you can make with different grinds and equipment. He has over two dozen coffee making contraptions in his kitchen that are used to experiment with new coffee beans.
Ken continues to learn about coffee through his travels and is constantly pursuing high-quality, small batch coffees that can deliver unique flavors into a cup. He participated in the Illy-Coffee program at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa, California. He spends endless hours touring the world to try quality coffee, and bring them back to Guam.
Ken was born in Guam, and graduated from the University of the Pacific. He is a registered civil engineer in California and Guam, and specializes in environmental and water resources.
Cara started working for Guam Coffee Company as a barista in the original café. After returning back home to Guam from the Pacific Northwest, Cara started a family. Since then, she has expanded her role into the executive team and oversees the wholesale operations of Guam Coffee Company.
Her combined experience of sales, high level of customer service, and knowledge in business management has led her passion for the coffee business. Cara is pivotal in establishing Guam Coffee Company as one of the best coffee suppliers on the island. She thrives to provide the island with unique and great tasting coffees from around the world. .
